Just over one month into our life in Newberry, SC and I was still finding my way. I felt like at this point I
Finding my way
Daily grind
Most mornings start with a French press full of Java Momma coffee and breakfast with Wilhelmina. She has become quite the helper in the kitchen and loves to make her breakfast.

She and I try to go out every other day for a jog around town. It is something to help with my sanity and fills some of the time each day. Should I mention Newberry isn’t very flat and that pushing a small child and jogging stroller is hard work? I love our Joovy 360 Ultralight Jogging Stroller but up a hill even without the cute small child is hard! Ha!
Filling up the rest of the day
Out and about
After coffee and breakfast, we need something else for filling up the rest of the day. So far we have explored EdVenture, the Riverbanks Zoo & Garden, and made many trips to the Harbison Blvd for shopping essentials such as Costco and Target.
We have also made the local branch of the Newberry County Library System a frequent haunt. We miss our favorite librarian from the Maricopa system and all our library buddies from Goodyear, but we are both working hard to make new friends.
Minor details
During the first couple of weeks, I spent more than my fair share at the local SC Department of Motor Vehicles. I am more than happy to answer any questions about getting a driver’s license, registering to vote, or getting a tag/title/registration for a car. Just drop me a line. Oh, and just a heads up: the first time you register a car in South Carolina you must pay $250 to the state for infrastructure improvement.
Oh, and I got my first haircut in over two years. A shout-out to Illusions Hair Studio!
So what’s next?

More adventures to come as we both are finding our way in our new “normal” and life in South Carolina. Plus, it’s the festival season,
And just an update, I opted to enroll Wilhelmina in a part-time Pre-K program at Newberry Academy for the fall. I think we’ll both benefit from it. <3
