Hey,
Overview of Day 1
Miles traveled
We only traveled 67 miles on the first day. Oops! Packing the Penske truck took a little while. Pick up was quick and easy at the Home Depot, packing it – – not so much. I guessed we would be ready at 2pm-ish and my dad said 4pm-ish. Guess he was closer to correct, we pulled out of the driveway at 4:15 pm MST.
What we saw
Packing a truck is like Tetris without any second turns, it is challenging. Hopefully, everything survives in-tact. Packing clothes for the trip was a breeze though! Want some great packing tips? Drop me a line! I have some amazing tips.

Since the day was spent packing up the truck we didn’t see too many sights or do too many exciting things along the way. Just outside of Casa Grande we saw the remains of a travel trailer that met an untimely demise. I hope everyone was a-okay!
Where we wound up
Our final stop for the day was Casa Grande, AZ, the mid-point between Phoenix and Tucson. Finding a hotel room proved to be challenging but thankfully we found two rooms at the MainStay Suites. The rooms are a little sketchy, like seriously don’t follow the five-second rule for food, but the staff is over-the-top friendly and gracious.

Pants worn
I wore my crazy orange, blue, electric yellow, and hot pink leggings to load up the truck and threw on a comfy blue Carly for the drive out of town. Want to find your own comfy pair of leggings? Hop over to my friend Kristin’s LuLaRoe shop and snag a pair or two. I’ll give some away along the journey!
