Turning forty brought on a LOT of changes for me! And I embraced it all with enthusiasm and a sense of hopefulness. A strong desire to spend this decade and beyond living a life I love has lead me to say: Hello to a new adventure! And I am bringing you along for the journey, are you ready? Then hop over to The Busy Llama community to be a part of it.
Up, up, and away! Hello to a new adventure
Adios to Arizona!
Wilhelmina and I hit the road and headed across the country to move to little

To help yourself, you must be yourself. Be the best that you can be. When you make a mistake learn from it, pick yourself up and move on.

I made some wonderful connections with many diverse and eclectic people. I explored the communities around Phoenix and beyond. And faced the challenges of raising Wilhelmina emotionally and physically on my own for most of the time given her father’s career kept him on the road or away from home a lot.
It is time to go east though, my heart and soul belong on the other side of the country, at least for the time being. It is time to re-explore the world I grew up in but through the eyes of my daughter. Heading “home” affords us many great opportunities. So…
Hey, y’all, to South Carolina
The move back to Newberry puts us in a position to explore the east coast, spend more time with family, and reconnect with old friends.
Instead of being 2000 miles from my home away from home West Virginia, we’ll be a day’s drive away. Instead of trying to do the mental math to determine whether or not it is too late to chat with a friend I’ll be in the same time zone.
I have yearned for the green, the trees, the hills and shores of the east coast. It has been like a piece of me has been missing for the last four years in the browns and tans of Phoenix, AZ.
Ready to hit the road!
I was excited and a bit nervous, to embark on the journey. At least I felt adequately prepared to entertain my daughter along the way since I made an activity bag for each day of the trip!
Spoiler alert! She loved them all and still plays with some of the things to this day!
Be sure to check out the adventures we took along the way and the places we stayed in the Have Pants, Will Travel series of posts, Days 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. Drop me a line!
Update! Guess what, Newberry wasn’t the place for us. We moved, again, for a new adventure. Guess where? Find out here.
