Mama needs a break, not a breakdown
I can honestly say I do not remember the last time I did something that was 100% for me. Okay, this isn’t even 100% for me since I am attending the retreat to further my blog and my midterm BIG goals and dreams. Too often we do not take the time to do things just for ourselves. Case in point, I am not spending all weekend drinking daiquiris and lounging by the water.
That being said, they’ll be some 100% for me only things that will happen this weekend. Want to be one of the first to see? Hop over to my woeful Instagram account to get a sneak peek. 😉
The importance of community
They say you need the village to raise a child but you also need a community to support the mama’s emotional and social needs. This weekend I get to meet one of my online communities for the first time face-to-face. I am feeling many different emotions about it. Anxiety and excitement are neck-and-neck for the lead though in the feelings department.
It is very scary to meet people that you have formed such close relationships with without the cumbersome awkwardness that goes with face-to-face interaction. So there is that scary worry that they might not actually like me in-person. However, that is tempered with the enthusiasm of actually meeting them all!
Once that awkwardness and forced small talk is out of the way I think we’ll be making some amazing friendships to last a lifetime. As well as, learning so much that we can bring back to our respective blogs and businesses.
